Dzhangeldin Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Dzhangel'dy, the mountains of Kuldjuktau, Central Kyzylkum. Ya.B. Aysanov, A.I. Egorov (1984), previously described by them as Upper Wenlock deposits (44, pp. 25-26).
Synonym: Djangeldinskaya Suite, Джангельдинская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Divided into three lithological parts:
Upper part (thickness 300m) - massive, thin- and medium-bedded limestones of white, gray and black color.
Middle part - interbedded light gray and dark gray massive and thin-bedded dolomitized and marbled limestones (thickness 400m).
Lower - massive dolomites with separate layers of siltstone (aleurolites) and claystone (thickness 200m).
Total M. of the suite up to 900 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Uchkuduk-Sil Fm
Upper contact
It is also conformably overlain by the Bashguzumdin Fm with a gradual transition.
Regional extent
In the form of isolated areas and narrow strips of north-western extension, south of the well of Sultanbibi, western part of the Kynkirtau mountains, north of the well of Uchkuduk, in the southern and western framing of the Tozbulak intrusion, south-eastern height of Koshshakshak, the area of the height of Darbaza and east of it, north and north-west of the village of Dzhangel'dy, the area of small mountain elevations of Kynkirtau and Tuzkoy.

Fossils
Upper part – brachiopods - Conhidium knighti Sow., Proporidae and Ectomaria cf. nieszkowskii Fr. Schmidt.
Middle part – Contains pelecypods and crinoids - Pandocrinus cf. pandus Stuk., Pentagonocyclicus tuskoensis Yelt., P. ex gr. acutus Milicina, Kstutocrinus sp.
Lower – brachiopods - Conhidium ex gr. knighti Sow., Atrypoidea cf. linguata Buch., graptolites - Monoclimacis sp. (aff. linnarssoni Tullb.), Monograptus sp.; crinoids - Megalocrinus latilobatus Schew., Pentagonocyclicus ophiuroides Yelt., Cyclocyclicus dibuliformis Schew.
